6 Strange Health Tips For Everyone
6 most Strange Health Tips For Everyone:
There are so many ways to improve your health and they are quite simple: lose weight, eat less and exercise more; to increase your energy, sleep more; drink more water to avoid dehydration. Others, however, are completely contradictory. The following tips really work, but they can make you scratch your head.
Drink coffee for a better nap
In a Japanese study, which examined how to maximize a siesta, people who take a “coffee siesta”, consume around 200 milligrams of caffeine (quantity in one or two coffee cups) and immediately take a break of 20 minutes. “You felt more alert and did better on computer tests than those who had just taken a nap.
Why does it work? A 20-minute nap ends just as caffeine kicks in and cleanses the brain of a molecule called adenosine, maximizing alertness. “Adenosine is a byproduct of arousal and activity,” said Allen Towfigh, MD, medical director of neurology and sleep medicine in New York City. “When adenosine levels rise, we get more tired. The law eliminates adenosine, and when combined with caffeine, an adenosine blocker, it further reduces its effects and amplifies the effects of the lure. ”
For healthy teeth, you should not brush after eating
Do not brush your teeth immediately after eating and drinking, especially if they are acidic. Acidic foods (citrus fruits, sports drinks, tomatoes, sodas (diet and regular)) can soften tooth enamel “like wet sandstone,” says Howard R. Gamble, former president of the Academy of General Dentistry. Brushing teeth at this point can accelerate the effect of the acids on the enamel and erode the underlying layer. Gamble suggests waiting 30 to 60 minutes before brushing your teeth.
To carry a smaller size, you need to gain weight
Muscle weight, that is. If two women weigh 150 kg and only one lifts weights, the athlete is more likely to adapt to a smaller trouser size than her sedentary counterpart. Likewise, a 150-pound woman who lifts weights can be at the same height as a 140-pound woman who does not exercise. The reason: Although one pound of fat weighs the same as one pound of muscle, muscle takes up less space, says Mark Nutting, director of fitness for SACO Sport & Fitness in Saco, Maine. “You can increase muscle mass and decrease overall if you lose fat,” he says. “The bulge that so many women dread only happens if you do not lose fat and build muscle on top.” Cut calories and add weight to your workout to lose inches.
To Eat less, You need to eat more
Snacking on a 100-calorie package of biscuits or pretzels may seem like a virtue, but you are more likely to be hungrier than if you ate something more extensive, says Amy Goodson, RD, dietitian at Texas Health Ben Hogan Sports Medicine. “Eating small amounts of carbohydrates does nothing but raise your blood sugar and make you crave more carbohydrates.” Goodson recommends choosing a protein like peanut butter or chain cheese with an apple. “They have more calories per serving, but protein and fat help you feel full faster and stay full longer, and you end up eating fewer calories in general,” she says.
Avoid energy drinks when you are tired and drink water instead
Energy drinks contain up to five times more caffeine than coffee, but the boost they provide is volatile and has unpleasant side effects such as nervousness, irritability and rapid heartbeat, Goodson says. Plus, energy drinks often contain high levels of taurine, a central nervous system stimulant and over 50 grams of sugar per serving. Can (that’s 13 teaspoons!). Sweet things raise your blood sugar level temporarily only to go down shortly after, leaving you lazy and dizzy and you have another energy drink.
